Almost everyone loves watching films and what makes the movie we’re watching so endearing is the musical background being played depicting the emotions and state of the characters. Movies and music – they should blend together beautifully for without enchanting or upbeat music, the film would be dull and lifeless. We all have our favorite movies and favorite soundtracks as well. Long after the movie ended, its music still lingers.

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s final work first won fans on Broadway. But better would be starting with the film, in which the tale of singing sibs and their notable musical governess in Nazi Austria found it in Julie Andrews’s enchanting voice.
