Photographer Ken Griffiths started to prepare a photograph collection for The Sunday Times in 1973. The name of his project was “English Country Garden”. In this yearlong project, he photographed a lovely old couple for 12 months, and 4 seasons. Living in English rural, East Sussex, Mr. and Mrs. Sweetman posed for the same shot in their garden until that day…It was finally time to take the last photograph and finish the project. However, this time the old man stood alone. Unfortunately, his beloved wife passed away before seeing the last photograph.
While looking at the photographs, you can see the flowing time, changing months, changing seasons and blossom of flowers. We witness the impact of time on the elderly couple. The last photograph explains everything: Love is forever and always. This one is absolutely for romantics.
