Efforts by Jack and Marla are like a resistance against the meaningless of consumption culture – just like a reaction from people who have a career but are lonely. Jack’s generation is a dead generation. The fact that the only person for him to call during a journey when he sees his house burnt down is soap seller Tyler Durden, who he met during the journey, is the proof of this situation. After a few glasses of beer, Tyler provokes our man to hit him in parking space. This fighting between them will change Tyler’s life. After some time, Jack moves in with Tyler.
